Imphal, December 22 2012:
The proscribed UG group, United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has condemned the incident of molestation and assault of Manipuri actress Momoco and other artists by Lt Col Livingstone of NSCN (IM) during a musical concert at Chandel district headquarters on December 18 .
In a statement, UNLF observed that such immorality has been spread among the cadres of NSCN (IM) over the years.
Killing of SDO Kishan, Rajen and Token, and abduction of Irabanta, who is still traceless, are some examples of NSCN-IM's brutality and inhuman acts.
If such cadres were not dealt with in accordance to the constitution of NSCN-IM itself, they would never be able to lead the Naga people towards the path of development and progress, the statement added.
The proscribed UG organization has also claimed that the bomb attack on a water tanker and a bullet proof vehicle of 43 CRPF near Imphal PS in the morning of December 19 was carried out by a small demolition team of Manipur People's Army (MPA), the armed unit of the Front.
In a statement, UNLF mentioned that the team fitted two claymore bombs at both sides of the road within a gap of around 30 feet apart.
As per the plan, the first bomb should explode when the CRPF vehicles passed it and the second bomb after the vehicles stopped after the sudden explosion.
However, the team did not explode the first bomb when a passenger bus overtook the CRPF vehicles near the first bomb.
After the passenger bus passed the CRPF vehicles, the team blew off the second bomb shattering the bullet proof vehicle and injuring one civilian.
Then the team blew off the first bomb only to save it from falling into the hand of CRPF.
It further stated that the bomb attack could have killed some CRPF personnel only if the passenger bus had not appeared.
UNLF said that it felt sorry for the injured civilian identified as Mustaq Ahmad and shared in the grief of his family and reiterated its appeal to the people to stay away from the security forces all the time to avoid such unwanted incidents.
Meanwhile, UNLF condemned the bomb attack at the house of a contractor at Liwa Lambi Maibam Leikai which claimed an innocent life and added that such act of cowardice could have only been carried out by gangs supported Indian security forces.
Maintaining the contractor himself must be having the knowledge of the organisation or gang responsible for the attack, UNLF appealed to the local people and womenfolk to mention the name of the organisation or gang while carrying out sit-in protest and said that such acts of violence of gangs should not be confused with those of revolutionary organisations.
