Blessing for ADC candidates held

Tamenglong, May 18 2015 :
In a rare programme the candidates of the ensuing Autonomous District Council elections got blessing from the Almighty God in a prayer and blessing function in Tamenglong district held at the Conference Hall of Town Baptist Church Tamenglong on Monday.
The programme was jointly organized by Town Churches Union Tamenglong (TCU), Zeliangrong Baptist Churches Council North East India (ZBCCNEI), Zeliangrong Evangelical Fellowship (ZEF) Tamenglong and Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) .
Out of 82 candidates in Tamenglong district only 13 candidates from 6 segments attended the programme and shared their vision/ manifestos.
The candidates also spoke on what made them contest in the ADC election 2015 .
The 13 candidates who attended the rare programme include M Kariliang (NPF), Hutanang Pamei (INC), Pouhotlung (BJP), Santhuiyang Pamei (BJP), Charles Liandiang (IND), Pr Guisinang (BJP), Kanny Pame (IND), Poukinlung (NPF), ID Chunlubou (IND), Puksurei (IND), Makiureiyang (IND), Lungsangai R Panmei (NPF) and Ramkung Pamei (NPF) .
The programme was organized with an objective to raise the standard of electoral politics, to reduce the expenditures in political campaigns, to gradually obliterate the money power, to eliminate the use of government schemes as tools of election campaign and encourage transparency in the election process.
The program also aimsed to create opportunities for all candidates to share their manifesto/ visions with the voters.
All candidates can come together in a common platform, share the same dais, develop respect for one another.
In his public speech on the emerging political, economic and social issues, Kinderson, Director IWCF said that under the 3rd Amendment Act 2008 the ADC Manipur has no Judiciary power, no finance power and no legislative power.
He also asked all the candidates to be aware of the any ploys which will trap them.

Adui, General Secretary, ZBCCNEI read out the Holy Bible and shared on religion and politics.
While expressing sincere gratitude to all the candidates for attending and sharing their vision, the organizing committee said that said that the program was organised in the interest of all concerned of the general public to know the "candidate's on the emerging political, economic and social" issues of the Zeliangrong people.
"The organizer does not imply any diktat and does not organize this program in support of or in the interest of any candidate or party", stated Rev.Namreikeu Pame, President Town Churches Union Tamenglong.
