Imphal, May 13 2015 :
Villagers of Mapao Khullen and students of Needy Home Academy staged a protest demonstration today against the brutal killing of Dayananda and Premananda and physical torture of a school student by the militant group KRF.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration Needy Home Academy, Mapao Khullen founder R Chance said such savage conduct of the militants is a threat to the entire humanity.
Since the school was set up 10 years back, such untoward incidents had never happened although the area is inhabited by different communities.
The area is inhabited together by Meitei, Kom, Thangal, Tangkhul and Kuki, and students belonging to all these communities study at the school.
Premananda and Dayananda were engaged in wielding steel tubular frames for construction of the academy's hall.
They came to work at the school in the company of their uncles/brothers.
Bishal is a Class VI student and stays in the school's hostel.
All three of them are related to the academy directly or indirectly.
The way Premananda and Dayananda have been killed and how Bishal was subjected to physical torture has left everyone heart-broken, R Chance said.
Any kind of allegation levelled against the two deceased victims is simply unacceptable.
The Government should award befitting punishment to all those involved in the abduction and subsequent double-murder, he demanded.
Konthoujam Bishal (12) s/o Bikram of Haobam Marak Lourembam Leikai is undergoing treatment at RIMS since he was freed by KRF yesterday.
The militants told family members of Bishal quite casually that Moirangthem Dayananda (20) s/o Bihari of Patsoi-III and Maibam Premananda (21) s/o Bihari of Haorang Keirel had died during interrogation as if they (the militants) had done nothing wrong.
Mapao Khullen village chairman KR Mayonpam said that there was no case of any monetary demand from any UG group on the school where 105 destitute children are also studying.
The way the two youngsters were tortured and killed before the student was freed was too much considering their age.
The double-murder smacks of sheer savagery, Mayonpam said.
All three of them are non-Christians and they went out together from the school campus for an outing as it was Sunday (May 10) .
The armed militants took them towards Thingsat, 7 Kms away from Mapao Khullen where they were offered meals before subjecting them to extreme physical torture.
The matter came to light only yesterday afternoon after the release of Bishal.
But they (militants) were saying without any remorse that Dayananda and Premananda had died during interrogation.
This reveal complete lack of civility on the part of the militants.
The protesters also paid homage to the deceased victims apart from conveying solidarity to the bereaved families.
The protesters also shouted slogans and put up placards which read/sounded like "We condemn killing of innocent civilians", "We condemn harassment of students", "We want peace" etc.
