Imphal, February 07, 2012:
Despite the vehement denial of the NSCN (IM), the Union Home Ministry has said that it has intractable proof of the involvement of the outfit in the election to the State Assembly.
Talking to The Sangai Express a well placed source in the Union Home Ministry said that they have enough proof to show that the outfit has had a hand in the just held election to the 10th Assembly election.
The involvement of the NSCN (IM) in the Tampi polling station incident at Chandel Assembly Constituency on January 28 is evident, said the source.
In all seven people, including four polling officials and one CRPF personnel were killed in the shoot out at Tampi polling station.
One civilian was among those killed that day.
Incidentally the claim of proof has come a few days after Union Home Minister P Chidambaram informed the media that the Centre has received intelligence inputs on the involvement of the NSCN (IM) in the election.
"The involvement of the NSCN (IM) in the election is an open secret," said the source while speaking to The Sangai Express and added that the outfit issued a denial on February 6.
