In follow up action to the operation launched at Ngakrapat at Loktak lake on September 9 in which five PREPAK cadres of the Cobra Task Force were killed, Bishnupur police today rounded up another cadre, who was injured in the said operation from Lamshang Tera Urak.
Simultaneously two doctors, including the Superintendent of a private medical institute have been summoned for interrogation for treating the injured cadre.
According to information from Bishnupur police, as news started doing the round that some PREPAK cadres who were hurt in the operation were undergoing treatment at private medical institutes, they were on the alert and managed to nab one PREPAK cadre from Lamshang Tera Urak today morning.
The arrested cadre is identified as H Lakhpati alias Khagemba (32) of Chajing.
He suffered multiple bullet injuries and since he is in a poor state he has been shifted to the security ward of JN hospital.
Following his disclosure police have confirmed that he was injured in the September 9 operations and that he received first aid from a private medical centre at Imphal.
He was also operated upon at the said medical centre.
Since the authority of the said medical centre and the doctor who attended to him had not informed the police as required by the law, the Superintendent of the hospital and a doctor have been summoned and interrogated, said a police source.
Stern action will be taken up against the said private clinic, said the source.
Apart from the 5 killed, arms were seized.
