No let up in cries for punishing Livingstone

The mass public protest which was staged today at Shumang Leela Shanglen under the joint aegis of Film Forum Manipur, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council and AMMIK, has unanimously resolved to carry on with the ongoing agitation over the Chandel molestation case until and unless the concerned authorities arrest and take up necessary legal actions against Livingstone.
The protest demonstration which was also attended by volunteers of various CSOs of the State adopted a number of resolutions in connection with the incident of molesting and assault of film actress Momoco and opening firing at two other male artists by Livingstone, a senior functionary of NSCN (IM), during a musical concert at Chandel district headquarters on December 18 .
The resolutions included staging sit-in-protest and taking out public rally in different parts of the State; urging the Central and the State Government to take up legal actions against Livingstone; to exert pressure on the concerned authorities for demolishing all the designated camps of NSCN-M in the State since the cease fire does not extend in Manipur; to press the concerned authorities to investigate thoroughly into the Napetpali incident and book the culprits; to stop all types of music concerts, film shootings, performance of Shumang Leelas and all events till the demands are not fulfilled; to appeal for discontinuation of broadcasting films, songs, etc, on ISTV for the time being; to appeal to all the print and electronic media to abstain from publishing news of the State Government in connection with the killing of journalist Dwijamani by State force; to put up the photographs of Livingstone, who has been declared 'Wanted' by the State Government in all public places as well as through media; non-participation of all artists in any government functions and to press the MLAs and MPs of the State for taking up necessary legal actions against culprit Livingstone.
It is said that a similar sit-in-protest would be staged at the office complex of Film Forum Manipur at Lamphelpat tomorrow.
