Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign Committee conducts massive drive at Moreh

Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign Committee Moreh conducted a massive drive to curb sale of contraband drugs starting from Hongkong Bazar near Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No 1 to Moreh Ward No l, 2, 3, 4 and 5 today since 11 am.
During the drive, many drug users and drug dealers were rounded up and let go after final warning were served to the offenders by the Anti Drug Abuse Campaign Committee Moreh that severe punishment will be handed down if they indulged in the same offense.
It has been reported that drugs (heroine no 4) worth Rs 10,000 were seized during the drive while several pipes, syringes and other items were also seized.
Later, all the seized contraband items were burnt in front of media persons at the campus of Hill Tribal Council Moreh.
Convener Khup Gangte, Anti Drug Abuse Campaign Committee Moreh said that the drive was conducted with the objective to make Moreh town free from drug menace and to protect the younger generations from the evils of substance abuse.
