Ideals of Irabot extolled all over

Extolling his ideals and aspirations, Lamyanba Hijam Irabot was remembered on his 62nd death anniversary today along with organising various programmes by different organizations all over the State and beyond.
As part of the observance, the 12th State Level Patriotic Song Competition was organised under the aegis of Students Federation of India, Manipur State Committee at GM Hall here today.
The function was attended by renowned lyricist B Jayentakumar Sharma and Th Mocha, President of Students Federation of India, Manipur State Committee as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Asst Prof Chinglen Maisnam of Manipur University; Sarat Salam, former President of SFI; Ksh Shanta, Convenor of CITU; Th Sarat, Secretary of Manipur Loumi Marup; S Roma, Secretary of DYFI/MSC and Y Ratan, former President of SFI/MSC were also present on the occasion as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, B Jayentakumar Sharma stated that the present generation should discuss and understand the philosophies of late Hijam Irabot and follow his footsteps to build a better society.
There has been no one like Hijam Irabot in the past or at present.
He was born to make Manipur an independent and developed State.
He went on to state that there would be peace and development in the society when the present generation fulfils all the dreams and aspirations of Hijam Irabot which he left incomplete during his life time.
But, unfortunately, none of the present leaders of the State possess the qualities of Irabot.
Today's leaders are all self-centered.
The 62nd death anniversary of Irabot was also observed as State Mourning Day by Irabot Celebration Committee at Irabot Bhavan here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Nara, State Secretary of CPI Manipur State recalled that Myanmar respected Lamyanba Hijam Irabot for his contribution towards unification of three warring Communist parties so much so that when he died at Anggo hill, they gave him gun salute.
The 62th death anniversary of Irabot was also observed undr the joint aegis of Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC), Manipur and PPCM's component organisations, AMPFA, IFM, JSCC and LOUSAL at MU Hall at Yaiskul Police Lane here today.
At Jiribam, the 62nd death anniversary of Irabot was observed under auspices of Jana Neta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET) along with offering floral tributes to the statue of Irabot installed at Babupara .
President of JIMET O.Mangi Meetei, Gen.Secy N.Rajbehari and leaders of various organisations and students attended the function.
On the other had, All Jiribam Loumee Marup observed the 117th birth anniversary of Irabot at the Town hall of Jiribam today.
