Bharat Nirman campaign kicks off at Moreh

A 3-day long Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign being organized by PIB, Imphal kicked off from today at the Hall of HTC, Moreh.
The inaugural function was attended by MLA DK Korungthang as Chief Guest, ADC Moreh Lalramsang Infimate as President and Vice President of HTC Moreh Holkhojam Mate, Secretary of MCM Inaocha and Member of MDC Moreh JN baite, Member as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Korungthang observed that Bharat Nirman campaign would gives an opportunity to a large number of people in the district to be aware of the various schemes and programmes of the Government of India.
The campaign will help in nurturing the relation between the Government departments and the common masses.
Lalramsang Infimate said that students of today are the future leader of tomorrow.
He also appreciated the students who turned up with pen and notebook in hands and said that the campaign will enable the students to know the details regarding the flagship programmes of UPA Govt. Inaocha observed that Central Govt has provided lots of facilities with a view to uplift the standard of living of the poor people.
However, the people are deprived of such facilitiesas the implementing agencies are not sincere.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering Premlata Loitam, MCO, PIB Imphal, pointed out that the Bharat Nirman campaign being held at Moreh is the 14th such campaign carried in different parts of the State.
The main objective of the campaign is to make the people aware of the various schemes like mid day meal, ICDS, MGNREGA, RTI, IAY, PMGSY, rural telephony, etc which the Central Government has launched for the benefits of the people.
Artistes of Song and Drama Division presented various cultural items to mark the inaugural function.
Around 20 Stalls including that of central and state departments are displaying their respective activities as part of the campaign.
The three-day long campaign is being organized by PIB Imphal in collaboration with, DFP, Song and Drama Division, Prashar Bharati, District Administration Chandel, Departments of Central and State Governments, churches, NGOs, clubs, etc of Moreh.
