MHRC takes up two cases

Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has taken up two cases for violation of human rights, today.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at its office this evening, Acting Chairperson of MHRC, Khaidem Mani said that the petitions were filed by Laimayum Suraj of Naoremthong Laishram Leikai and Kh Phajaton, president of Youth's Forum for Protection of Human Rights.
Saying that one of the cases is related with the incident of Usoipokpi Potsangbam, which went viral on social media for harassing and assaulting a woman in front of her daughter by the mob, Kh Mani conveyed that the commission has directed the concerned authority to submit the police report of the incident on or before October 17 .
He also appealed the State Government to formulate a policy to check mob lynching at the earliest.
