Kwatha villagers call off blockade

Imphal, September 04 2018:
Kwatha Village Authority has called off their agitation and ended the blockade at Imphal-Moreh Highway following a meeting with Government spokespers on Thongam Biswajit Singh this evening at his official quarter.
During the meeting, representatives of the Kwatha Village Authority tabled their demands before Biswajit.
Speaking to the representatives, Biswajit said that Kwatha Village is an integral part of Manipur and that the Government is very much keen to solve the border issues.
Further assuring to look into their demands, he said that all necessary steps will be taken up to fulfil all their genuine demands.
Regarding their demand for revocation of transfer order of Tengnoupal DC A Tombikanta, Biswajit said that he will put forth the demand before the Chief Minister and consider the feasibility in reinstating the IAS officer as the DC Tengnoupal in the next Government transfer and posting order.
It may be mentioned that Kwatha villagers had blocked the Imphal-Moreh road since last midnight demanding revocation of Tengnoupal DC A Tombikanta's transfer order.
