Awareness campaign begins

A public awareness campaign on "Free and Fair Election" organised by Campaign for Free and Fair Election Committee (CAFFE) has begun today at Khurai Popular High School ground, Imphal.
The inauguration programme was attended by Y Meme, president Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup, Imphal East, Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Joint CEO, Manipur and Y Biken Singh, secretary YOSC, Khurai as the presidium members.
Speaking at the event, convenor CAFFE, Moirangthem Somorjit said that the committee (CAFFE) was founded in January 24 this year at Manipur Press-Club with an objective to ensure conduction of the upcoming MP election free and fair.
Saying that the campaign is supported by Election Commission of India (ECI), he cautioned that necessary legal action will be taken up against all individuals who are found exercising unlawful activities like distribution of money and supply of drugs or alcohol at camps.
