Kakching, January 23 2022:
BJP Yuva Morcha Kakching Mandal has strongly condemned the attempt being made to field an individual with criminal record and who left the party during a crucial period only to return during election time as BJP candidate in the ensuing election from Kakching AC.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday at BJP Kakching Mandal office, BJP Yuva Morcha Kakching Mandal member Sh Sadananda said that BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah are taking up various welfare programmes for the people and making concerted efforts to end corruption and drug menace by launching Clean India Campaign.
However, it was very unfortunate and shameful that a person with criminal record and who left the party earlier is being brought back to the party and trying to field him as party's candidate in the upcoming election from Kakching AC.
Such acts of BJP have disheartened more than 10,000 members of BJP Yuva Morcha Kakching Mandal who have long been working day and night for the party since 2013 when the Yuva Morcha had only around 20 members, Sadananda said.
The new entrant to BJP attempting to be party's candidate was involved in a criminal conspiracy while he was serving as Imphal West district magistrate in the year 2006 and the said person was even denied application form for INC ticket for the upcoming election due to his past records.
Bringing back such a person to BJP indeed tarnishes image of the party, he said and warned that it would be a great loss for BJP if the party ticket is issued to the person in question.
The press conference was also attended by several members of BJP Yuva Morcha Kakching Mandal.
