Lions Clubs distribute rice at Awang Ngairangbam

Imphal, January 23 2022:
As a part of the "Relieving the Hunger" under One Multiple One Activity of Lions Clubs International, the Lions Club of Imphal, in association with Lions Club of Imphal North and Northern Hemisphere distributed rice to residents of Awang Ngairangbam, Khundrakpam Imphal East today.
At a programme held at the Awang Ngairangbam Community Hall, 7 Kgs of rice each were distributed to 80 families of the village.
Lion W Bhaktaraj, GST Co-ordinator, Manipur said that "Relieving the Hunger" is one of the permanent projects of Lions Clubs International.
Melvin Jones, who is the founder of Lions Club was born on 13th January 1879 and hence the Lions Clubs throughout the globe in 210 nations donate food items to the needy, starting from 13th January to 31st January, under this project.
As a part of the Programme, the Vice district governor-I, Dist 322D Lion (Dr) W Gopimohan said that the objective of Lions Club is to serve the humanity irrespective of caste, creed, gender or religion.
During the time of calamities or any medical emergency Lions Club is always ready to help.
President of Lions Club of Imphal, Lion I Gojendra, secretary Lion Th Nitish and other members were present in the function.
The volunteers of the Awang Ngairangbam Youth Club, who had arranged the programme were presented with good quality face shields by the Lions Club of Imphal.
