Manipur People's Party president, Oinam Jugindro has been expelled from the post of the party and the Party Central Committee has appointed Laikhuram Apabi Singh as the hew president of MPP.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the newly appointed president of MPP, Laikhuram Apabi Singh, said that Jugindro was expelled after a central committee meeting for alleged involvement in embezzlement of party's fund, anti-party activities and for acting against the directives of the party.
The decision was resolved under article 25(A) of constitution of MPP, he added.
He further claimed that Jugindro had been continuing the activity, not for politics, but for the benefit of some groups of people.
The party was formed with the motto to promote the regional party of Manipur and to bring new ideas and thoughts for the welfare of the people of the State, Apabi said.
He then claimed that after the committee member appointed him as the new party president, they went to the party's office but some members of the party allegedly threatened them under the influence of Jugindro against the order of the MPP central committee.
