Imphal, July 08 2018:
Listing 29 cases of Meitei Pangals acting under the influence of Pan Islam, dating back as far as year 2006, ASUK said that it is important to understand the meaning of Pan Islamism and how it can impact on Manipur.
A good number of Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingya Muslims have been detected coming to Manipur with the active support of some Meitei Pangals, said ASUK and added that there is a pattern in the incursion into the territory of Manipur.
Dubbing this pattern as 'chain migration,' ASUK said that the migration is helped by agents.
And 99 percent of the agents are Meitei Pangals, it said and added that a good number of them too have been arrested by the police.
The chain migration is an international agenda, said ASUK adding that some of the Rohingya Muslims move from Rakhine State in Myanmar to Bangladesh and then to other parts of India, such as Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Chennai down south.
The Rohingya Muslims who enter Manipur were mostly found taking shelter at the homes of Meitei Pangals, said ASUK and added that those arrested must be only a microscopic minority with the majority evading arrest and merging with the local population.
Asking why Meitei Pangals are involved in facilitating the entry of non-local Muslims into Manipur, ASUK said that it could be due to the spread of Pan-Islamism amongst section of the Meitei Pangals and went on to explain what Pan Islamism is all about.
ASUK explained Pan Islamism as the old Pan-Islamism, the medieval Pan-Islamism, Neo Pan-Islamism and detailed how Jihadi became a component of Pan Islamism.
On the latest avatar of Pan Islamism, ASUK traced its beginning and explained how some section of Meitei Pangals have taken to the latest understanding of Pan-Islamism.
The slogan of the latest avatar of Pan Islamism is, 'All Muslims are one and the same' and 'All Muslims across the world should unite and come together' .
Under this belief, Meitei Pangals are intent on facilitating the entry of Bangladeshi Muslims, Bengali Muslims, Rohingya Muslims, Bihari Muslims to Manipur, said ASUK and added that this is a strategy to emerge as the largest community in Manipur.
Once this is achieved then the others can be converted or those who fail to convert can be driven out, said ASUK and explained that when Bangladesh was newly formed" the population of other communities was 25 pc.
Today the population of other communities in that country is a meagre 8 pc.
The reason is conversion and those who refuse to convert were driven out.
This phenomena can be witnessed in other countries said ASUK and added that Sikhs who had settled at Afghanistan for the last 200/300 years are today being told to either convert to Islam or leave the country.
At present the population of Muslims in Manipur may just be 11 pc of the total population but if the rate of rise in population amongst the Muslims in Manipur is taken into consideration then by 2050 they may constitute 50 pc of the total population, predicted ASUK.
At the moment Muslims constitute 35 pc of the population in WESEA (NE region of India) region, it added.
Referring to an article by Dr RK Narendra in The Sangai Express on June 24 and July 14, 2016, ASUK said the term 'craft-resist domination' term used by the writer refers to the time when the rising population of the Muslims will throw a challenge to the indigenous people of the land and there will be a resistance to this, added ASUK.
Stating that there are evidences to show the rise in the population of Muslims in Manipur, ASUK drew the example of the foothills^ of Nongmaijing Ching near Wakha, foothills of Marjing at Heingang, Chingei near Waithou, Thoubal Karong, Kom Palli, near Huikap, Yairipok-Yambem-Changamdabi, Laihingkhong near Nungaipokpi, Haorou, Boryangbi.
Moreover there are also reports of many non-locals staying at areas dominated by Meitei Pangals, it added.
Stating that Muslim population in the world stands at 180 crore, ASUK asked what will happen if the doors of Manipur are thrown open to them? .
All need to seriously study such a possibility, it added.
All should take note of the reality, especially in WESEA and stop the incursion of outsiders into the soil of Manipur, said ASUK and added that primacy should be given to stopping the entry of non-local Muslims.
The earlier fear of incursion of Kuki-Chin group of people from Myanmar has now receded due to the economic progress of the neighbouring country, said ASUK.
Meitei Pangals should take the prime responsibility of checking the inflow of nonlocal Muslims into Manipur.
