Imphal, July 04 2015 :
Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has said that it is not a wise step for any organizations to force innocent minor school going students to participate in any demonstration of protest or agitation other than democratic and peaceful rally against the Government.
In a statement released by ZYF president Titus Kamei on Saturday, the front said the growing trend of forcing the school students join agitation after herding them out of schools without informing their parents is an act of infringement of the rights of the parents.
It said such acts of making the innocent minor school going students keeping exposed to the scorching sunmrains and risks to life and security are senseless which should be done away with.
Most of the agitations in Imphal valley turn violent causing grievous injuries with the latest being the one that launched on July 3 wherein 15 students got injured while they were attempting to storm the ongoing Assembly Session demanding implementation of ILP, ZYF said.
Police on duty without any reservation even for the minor students and children resorted to using water cannon, stone pelting, catapulting, baton charging, firing tear gas canister, firing rubber bullets, etc against the protestors that frequently leads to serious injuries to protestors, it said.
