Imphal, May 21 2010:
Demanding payment of their pending salary since April last, Non-teaching staff of RIMS have locked up the main gate of the administrative block of the medical institution from today.
Serving an ultimatum to the RIMS authority to clear their pending salary within five days, the non-teaching staff, who are agitating under the aegis of NonTeaching Employees Welfare Association, have also threatened to shut down the OPD and Casualty services if the demand is not met.
When The Sangai Express contacted the Director of RIMS, Dr Fimate, he said that it is highly unbecoming of the employees to resort to such a step.
The fund for payment of salaries for April has arrived and this has been conveyed to the employees.
It is just a matter of a few days time, he said.
