The federal general assembly of the Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) has resolved to officially include the Inpui cognate tribe in the constitution of the Zeliangrong Baudi with reference to the resolution adopted on the Zeliangrong people convention in 2007 at Zalukei, Nagaland.
The president of ZB, Ningtangpou Kamei conveyed in a statement that the decision was included in the four-point resolutions pertaining to the affairs of the Zeliangrong people in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland adopted at a general assembly of the ZB held at tamenglong on September 30 .
The general assembly was attended by representatives from all the three states, zonal units, women organisation, youth, students, Zeme, Liangmei, Rongmei and Inpui Naga councils, advisors and former presidents of the Zeliangrong People Organisation.
The ZB (AMN) has resolved to reaffirm the declaration of the ZPC Convention in 2007 at Julukie, Nagaland.
The house also decided not to participate in the proposed convention of the Zeme Council (NEI) in the interest of all Zeliangrong public, it informed.
The assembly also resolved to continue extension of possible reliefs to the displaced Zeliangrong community due to the ethnic conflict in Assam's NC Hills.
In his presidential address, the ZB president said the Zeme, Liangmei, Rongmei and Inpui should be accommodated in the fold of one family without any discrimination, the statement added.
It further stated that the revival of the ZU after months of declaration of adoption of ZB (AMN) at Jalukie in Nagaland was unfortunate while urging the people not to be confused about it.
