MPCC reaffirms for a better Manipur

Remembering the late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi on his 68th birth anniversary, members and workers of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today reaffirmed their pledge to make Manipur a better and prosperous state.
Informing this to mediapersons after offering floral tributes to the late Prime Minister during a commemorative function at Congress Bhavan here today, MPCC President Gaikhangam, who is also the Home Minister said, "Following the path of our beloved leader and his dream to make the country a developed one, we made a firm promise to make Manipur a better, prosperous and harmonious state".
Further, Gaikhangam said, "Our aim is to make the state advance in every aspects; spiritual, economically, education and in other fields.
With all co-operation of the public, let's make Manipur a better place to live in".
Regarding the current communal riots in neighbouring Assam and its resultant impact on Manipuri people residing in other India cities, the Home Minister appealed to all the families and relatives of the Manipuris in other states to stay calm and not to listen to baseless gossips.
He also informed that a team of delegates from Manipur has sent to various crisis-affected places to ensure the safety and security of the Manipuri people and to co-ordinate with the respective state authorities in this regard.
In Bangalore and Pune, IPS officer Priyokumar and IPS officer Clay Khongsai have been sent, other two civil service officers namely Ranjan Yumnam (MCS) and Yaiskul (IAS) have been sent to Guwahati, he added.
Ministers Dr.Kh Ratankumar (Works), Govindas Konthoujam (Industries and Commerce), Ngamthang Haokip (IFC), Francis Ngajokpa (Rural Development & Panchayat Raj), and Congress Legislatures DK Karungthang (Tengnoupal ), Dr Ng Bijoy (Khurai), Victor Keishing (Phungyar) and others were also present during the commemorative event.
