Digi Dhan mela held

Thoubal, April 12 2017:
A one day Digi Dhan mela was organised today at Basu Ground, Khangabok, Thoubal by Thoubal district administration under the aegis of the Department of Information Technology, Government of Manipur.
Thoubal Deputy Commissioner Shyam Lai Poonia, Education Minister Th Radheshyam, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore, and Commissioner (IT) PK Singh graced the function presidium members.
Th Radheshyam appealed to the people to use local made goods in order to boost the State's economy and said that use of cashless transaction-will help-in curbing the problem-of black money.
Chief Secretary O Nabakishore said that the use of digital card would immensely benefit the public.
A total of 42 stalls took part in the mela.
State Bank of India and HDFC Bank distributed Point of Sales(PoS) machines to few selected customers.
As part of the programme, prizes were also distributed to all the winners of poster, jingle and slogan competition held on March 31 at the Counting Hall of the DC Office Complex, Thoubal.
