Kutcha to pucca houses to be easier: PHFC

Panthoibi Housing Finance Company (PHFC) Chairman as well as Managing Director Th Hemo has said that the announcement made by the Chief Minister N Biren to enable land ownership transfer to women without extra charges nor expenses under the Government of India's Housing For All 2022 Mission would greatly facilitate the rapid upgrade of all kutcha houses in the State to pucca.
Speaking to media persons at the Company's office at Uripok Tourangbam Leikai, Hemo said that he has witnessed a change in the State ever since BJP came to power in the Centre as well as Manipur.
He said that Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Limited , the first license holder in the North East for Housing for All 2022 Mission under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Credit linked subsidy scheme, has been recognised as a Financial Institue by Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance and has also signed an MoU.
Pointing out that the company, aside from bringing the scheme to Manipur, has been providing upto Rs 2.20 lakh subsidy for housing loans to the people, he explained that the scheme applies to those households whose collective income per month is not greater than Rs 50,000 or Rs 6 lakh per annum.
The scheme is targeted towards the economically weaker section and low in* come group residing in the urban areas.
Hemo assured that the people with no proper housing facilities would benefit greatly from the scheme and the company would provide every possible aid.
"Most of the difficulties people face while availing housing loads are due to the necessity of Title Deed", he said.
The registration fees of sales deeds and gift deeds were different earlier, with the sales deeds being value based and gift deeds having a nominal value of Rs 3000 to 4000 .
The Managing Director claimed that the announcement made by the new BJP Government to transfer ownership of land to women without any expenses would ultimately simplify and speed up the process of upgrading kutcha houses in the State to pucca ones.
He also urged the authority concerned to take up every possible measures to improve the condition of Government school buildings in the State in both the hills and the valley.
