Imphal, April 10 2019:
Veteran politician O Joy has said that it is disappointing to see the Chief Minister and the State Government failing to keep the tall promises they made in recognition of Arambam Boby who won 9 medals for the State in the world stage (9 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze) .
Speaking to media persons at his residence at Kakwa today, O Joy reminded that on December 16 last year, Chief Minister N Biren Singh met Mr Maipak and during the meeting, the CM had assured to felicitate Arambam Boby at the State level and provide a Government job if he desires.
Stating that the feat of Arambam Boby is unmatched the world over, Joy said that the statement made by the Chief Minister can also be regarded as the statement of the State Government.
However, it is disappointing to see that none of the assurances have been transformed into action till date, the veteran politician alleged adding that if Arambam Boby had been from any other States of the country, he would have been idolised and celebrated at the highest level.
He then urged the State Government and the Chief Minister not to make empty promises just for the sake of pleasing the public.
