BSc Nursing students take oath

A lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony for First Year BSc Nursing students (6th Batch) of College of Nursing, RIMS was held at the Jubilee hall of the institute today.
A total of 48 students along with College of Nursing RIMS took oath at the event.
Dr, Rathi Balachandran, Assistant Director General (Nursing), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Professor A Santa Singh, Director RIMS Imphal, Prof A Narayan Singh, Controller of Examination, Manipur University and Prof Ch Arunkumar Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS, Imphal attended the event as presidium members.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, Dr Rathi Balachandran said that nursing is an art of helping people and it requires devotion, commitment and dedication.
"It is a dynamic and challenging profession.
Each one of you should at all time adhere to the Nursing ethics and principles," Balachandran said encouraging the students better service to people.
Nurses are educators, leaders and care providers.
It is the largest of the healthcare professions in India.
Other countries have high demand for Indian nurses owing to its quality curriculum arid professionalism, Balachandran said emphasising that the students have great prospects.
Professor A Santa said that the nurse is a highly respected profession and encouraged the students to pursue their study with dedication.
On infrastructure development going On at the RIMS campus, Prof A Santa said that the construction of the dental and nursing college building are near completion.
