Jiribam, January 05 2017:
Ever since Jiribam CHC was upgraded to Jiri District hospital and transferred to new location at Ningshing Khun on January 2, locals of Jiribam have been facing difficulties in availing medical care, reports our correspondent.
Though Jiribam District Hospital started operating, there is shortage of doctors, nurses and medical equipment.
Following the report of utilizing the Jiribam CHC building as the office of the CMO, civil society organisations have been urging the authority concerned to utilise the CHC building as place to provide first aid and emergency treatment as the location is easily accessible by the people of Jiribam and the adjoining areas.
Jiribam CMO Dr Sh Mangol Singh said that necessary steps have been taken up to cater the medical needs of the people.
He also expressed hope that since the matter has been apprised to the authority concerned, required medical equipment will be installed and adequate staff members will be posted at the earliest.
