The GPRN/NSCN has condoled the untimely demise of Prof Gangmumei Kamei at his residence today.
In its condolence message, GPRN/NSCN said Prof Gangmumei's demise is a great loss to the Zeliangrong in particular and Nagas in general.
Late Prof Gangmumei Kamei, had led the Zeliangrong people with utmost sincerity and dedication in various capacities.
The Zeliangrong Region Coordination Committee will always cherish and appreciate the selfless service he had rendered.
May the Almighty lord give strength and solace to the bereaved family to bear the great loss and may the soul of late Prof Gangmumei Kamei be at peace with the heavenly Father, it said.
The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) also expressed their heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members of Prof Gangmumei Kamei.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei was a dynamic academician, an author, socio-political leader and a religious reformer.
His sacrifices and dedication for the Zeliangrong people is a milestone in the history of Zeliangrong Nagas, the ZUF said in a statement.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei has done many commendable works for his people.
From 1980 till the early part of 1990, he played a key role in the Zeliangrong people's struggle for homeland under the banner of Zeliangrong People's Convention (ZPC) led by Rani Gaidinliu, the freedom fighter of India.
Prof G Kamei was the last president of the ZPC.
He served as a member of NEC till his last breath.
The ZUF will uphold his dreams and aspirations and work hard to translate them into reality.
The ZUF shall look forward to deliver his aspirations and visions, it said.
