Four burglars arrested, remanded

Four burglars who broke into a private bank and a shop located at Sagolband Sayang area have been arrested by police.
A team of Imphal police led by Inspector Dinesh and comprising of SI H Bidyasagar, SI T Rameshwar, SI O Ritu, SI T Bikas and ASI S Deepak carried out an investigation into complaints filed by owners of a private bank and grocery shop regarding incidents of burglary that took place at Sagolband Sayang area on December 25 and December 31 last year.
Following the investigation, four burglars were arrested by a team of Imphal police station last morning and one Acer laptop, one HP printer and some grocery items were recovered from their possession.
The arrested burglars have been identified as Takhellambam Thouba (20) s/o T Joy of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai, Sairem Somorjit (20) s/o Mohen from Jiribam, presently staying at Uripok Shamushang, Salam Naoba (20) s/o late S Pukchao of Thanga Salam Leikai, presently staying at Tera Amudon and Khaidem Gesper (24) s/o Kh Surendro of Sagolband Tera Amudon.
Sources informed that police first pulled up Thoubal from a rented house located at Tera Amudon at around noon yesterday.
Acting on his disclosure, the three other burglars were also arrested one after another.
From their revelation, the stolen items which were hidden at Tera Khongshangbi, Bishnupur district were also recovered by the police team.
All the four burglars were produced before the Court and they were remanded to judicial custody till January 19 .
