Two persons, one stealing rickshaw and another rickshaw puller who vanished with the goods loading rounded up by the members of the All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers Association and produced in front of the media today.
The person detained for stealing rickshaw was identified as Soraisham Krishnadas (41) son of Khongnem of Sekmaijin Khunou while the rickshaw puller who tried to steal goods carrying at his rickshaw was identified as Md Nanao alais Tomba (18) son of late Md Torabli, Irong Mayai Leikai.
Krishnadas had stolen a rickshaw park at Thangmeiband Kashturi bridge on August 23 last at about 10 am while the puller of the rickshaw named Philem Nipamacha was away.
He had also mortgaged the rickshaw.
Md Nanao has been picked up by the members of the association on the charge of taking away hardware goods worth around Rs 20,000 for delivery to the house of one Thoudam Sumolchandra of Khurai Thoudam Leikai.
Nanao found concealing the goods without delivering to the owner's house.
Later, speaking to the media persons, president Leihouthabam Subash appealed to the people not to hire rickshaw with no card issued by the association and those pulling by covering their face in order to avoid loss of goods taking help of rickshaw while delivery.
