Prohibitory order

Thoubal, November 28 2019:
Prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed at 'the Chingkham Hill-Lock area of Thoubal district.
The order was imposed to thwart any adverse law and order situation in view of tension erupting in the area due to some individuals digging out the earth and felling trees from the Chingkham Hill by using JCB machines and heavy trucks.
The orders issued by the District Magistrate, Thoubal N Bandana Devi has been enforced from November 27 last and will be valid until further notice.
However, the order shall not be applicable to law-enforcing authorities and essential services.
