ZUF celebrates 2nd raising day

Despite stringent security measures put in place by security forces to prevent celebration of 2nd Foundation day of Zaliangrong United Front (ZUF), the outfit reportedly managed to celebrate its raising day at its tactical headquarters with great fanfare on Monday.
The celebration was supposed to be held at Mukti village under Nungba sub-division in Tamenglong district.
But a day ahead of the celebration, a combined team of security forces including Assam Rifles dismantled all the decorative stage erected since Sunday night for the purpose.
So, the celebration was held at the tactical headquarters of the outfit with its commander in-chief Jainchui Kamei unfurling the party flag.
Apart from the gun salute given to the departed officials and cadres of the outfit, cultural items were presented by the different communities of Zeliangrong tribe.
On the occasion, Jainchui Kamei also read out the message of ZUF chairman Kamson to the gathering.
The message of the chairman observed that cooperation and support given by the public would remain as long as the outfit is true to the aspiration of the public.
The message also recalled that a major chunk of ancestral land of Zeliangrong people have been bartered away for the Dimasas in N.C Hill and added that still the neighbouring communities and States agencies are eying for the land and resources of Zeliangrong people.
The message concluded with the assurance of commitment of the outfit to complete the unfurnished tasks left behind by Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu.
