4th city level workshop on MS, Geo-tagging & IEC activities under PMAY conducted

The Town Planning Department, Manipur organised the 4th City Level Workshop on MIS, Geo-tagging and IEC activities under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) at City Convention Centre, Imphal today.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Y Narmada, Chief Town Planner and State Mission Director PMAY (U) and attended by the Chairpersons, Councillors, Executive Officers and technical persons of eight towns of Andro, Heirok, Lilong (IW), Lilong Thoubal, Sikhong Sekmai, Thoubal, Wangjing Lamding and Yairipok along with the officials from the Town Planning Department.
Y Narmada, delivering her inaugural speech, said that since the launching of PMAY (U) Mission in June 2015, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India introduces new rules and features on MIS and BHUVAN portals from time to time to enable better monitoring of the Mission and reporting the progress as well.
Due to this, she underlined the need for all towns to be cognizant of new developments and instructions from the Ministry.
The event conducted as part of a series of City Level and State Level workshops for training and discussion of new issues encountered during the implementation of the scheme in Manipur.
Today's City Level Workshop is the last after successfully conducting three workshops earlier.
Meanwhile, a technical session was also held which was moderated by N Gitkumar, retd Chief Town Planner, Manipur.
A detailed presentation and discussion about PMAY Awards 2019 for implementation and innovation was shown.
The participants were informed that Manipur falls in the Group-2 States comprising of 11 Hilly States while all towns were requested to give maximum effort to get an Award in this category.
The technical team of the Department also presented about the new provisions and issues in MIS and various issues with Geo-tagging the stages of house construction.
Later, during an interactive session, the need to submit the progress report before the given deadline was stressed and the mandatory practice to put the PMAY (U) logo on the completed house was discussed as well.
