CADA women volunteers attacked

Several women volunteers of Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), who went to seize alcohol from an alcohol vendor at Keirao Wangkhem Maning Leikai, Imphal East district were attacked by the vendor owner today at around 11 am.
According to reports, a team of CADA including secretary general of Imphal East District Committee, Uyam Pramodini conducted a drive at the residence of Nambram Khoidong @ Ibomcha (48) s/o (L) Ibotombi at Keirao Wangkhem Maning Leikai.
All of a sudden, the vendor owner attacked them with a knife and stick.
Luckily, the women volunteers escaped unhurt.
Speaking to media persons, Pramodini said that the anti-drug organisation had seized alcohol from Khoidong in the past.
She said that the volunteers went to Irilbung police station to lodge an FIR against the attack but they were asked to approach Imphal East women police station.
She added that they would meet SP Imphal East to urge him to take up appropriate action against those "irresponsible" officers of Irilbung PS and arrest Khoidong for attacking them.
