Students, teachers, CSOs hold protest march at DU against MU raid

A huge protest march was organised today at Delhi University against brutal police crackdown on teachers and students in Manipur University on intervening night of September 20 and 21.Large numbers of teachers and students participated in the march.
Rajeeb Ray, president of Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) and Federation of Central University Teachers' Associations (FEDCUTA), Nandita Narain, former president DUTA and FEDCUTA addressed the gathering.
Student organisations including KYS, AISA, BAPSA NESF-JNU, SFI, MSA, NESS-DU, UNIKAS, BASO, JNUSU, DSU and NSUI-NE Wing took part in the march.
The gathering took out the march around North Campus, Delhi University, before culminating it at Vivekanand Statue with a candle light vigil, said a statement of Chinglen Khumukcham, member, Convening Committee, North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS).
The gathering condemned the situation of a 'war zone' created by the administration of Manipur University and demanded immediate and un-conditional release of all arrested students and teachers.
It also condemned banning of internet services in Manipur by the State BJP Government.
The protesters appealed authorities concerned to intervene immediately to bring normalcy in Manipur University.
The protesters also demanded immediate removal of the security forces stationed inside the University campus.
