Ukhrul reports 14 fresh cases

A total of 14 fresh Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Monday, even as four patients recovered and were discharged from the district hospital.
With this, the total number of active cases has been recorded at 96 .
Subsequently, the district magistrate has issued an order bringing 10 residential areas in different parts of the district under containment zones.
"In view of the impending threat of the pandemic, it has become expedient to issue containment measures to prevent spread of the disease in the areas," the district magistrate stated in the order.
It said that the containment measures were announced under "the Manipur Epidemic Diseases, COVID 19 Regulations, 2020," which included sealing of the houses/compounds, barring entry and exit of population from the containment areas, along with initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases.
"Any persons/institutions/organisations found violating any of these measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005," the order said.
Meanwhile, the number of cumulative positive in the district is currently pegged at 1671, of which 906 are male and 765 female.
According to sources, the 96 active cases included 35 patients being lodged at Transit Camp, 25 at the District Hospital Isolation Ward and 15 at TK Woodland Covid Hospital.
The district has so far registered 46 deaths due to the disease and has referred 26 cases out of the district hospital till date.
