Imphal, February 25 2013:
The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has slammed the Indian Army for its involvement in illegal trade of drugs and intoxicants and urged the people of Manipur to join and support in the ongoing freedom struggle.
In a statement signed by its Secretary Publicity Roben Khuman, RPF observed that people of Manipur used to be hardworking, honest and courageous before its merger with the Indian Union.
Ever since Manipur has become part of Indian Union, the secret warfare of India government and its security forces through various policies have made Manipur a society of dishonest and coward people.
If the situation remains the same for some more decades, then no one would believe that an ethnic community called Meetei ever exist on this land.
Today, the Manipuri Youths are seen spending their time like vagabonds abusing different types of intoxicants like Khaini, Zarda, liquor, Heroin, pharmaceutical tablets, etc.
This is the normal scene in almost every locality of Manipur today with large quantity of drugs and intoxicants being trafficked into the State by officials of Indian security forces with the sole purpose of making the Manipuri society and its youths useless.
This matter has been brought up to the knowledge of the people by RPF on numerous occasions, the statement said.
The proscribed outfit contended that the recent seizure of large consignment of drugs from Tulihal Airport and the arrest of PRO, PIB (DW) Col Ajay Chowdhry along with drugs worth 15 crore in the international market at Pallel have made it clear to the people how Indian Security forces and its high ranking officials are carrying out such secret warfare to eliminate the youths of Manipur.
Reacting to the statement of Army spokesman Colonel Jagadeep Dahiya, who said that appropriate punishment will be meted out if PRO Colonel Ajay Chowdhry was involved in the case, RPF asserted that keeping aside the statement and assurance of the Indian Army spokesperson, one thing is sure that Indian Army is actively indulging in such illegal trades in Manipur.
Moreover, the large consignment of drugs was meant to be smuggled out into Myanmar.
This indicates that the Indian army is also trying to dismantle the Myanmar society by supplying such drugs to its youths besides Manipur.
While the Indian Army is boasting that they are the most discipline armed forces in the world, its personnel and high ranking officials have left no stone unturned in carrying out all sort of illegal activities ranging from killing of innocent people to grooming up extortionist groups and organising fake surrender programmes to illegal drug trades defying all resolutions and principles of the United Nations.
The recent incident of 42 Assam Rifles personnel escorting MDF cadres in its attempt to extort RIMS Director and their subsequent arrest by Manipur Police too has exposed the truth of Assam Rifles which promote extortionist groups just to defame the true revolutionary organizations, the RPF statement maintained.
Corruption and corrupted nature of Indian Army is wide known and Europe and America have nicknamed it as Asian Lubricant, the statement added.
RPF recalled that Indian Army had to defend themselves in the International Law Court when its personnel were found trading their ammunitions for gold with the Congo revolutionaries during their stint as UN Peace Keeping Mission there.
Earlier, they were killing, arresting and torturing people of Manipur while trying to suppress the freedom movement.
Now, they are trying to win the heart of the people by organising NIT, excursions, medical camps, presenting TB, Radio, football, volleyball, solar plates, embroidery machines and many other so-called social works under its Military Civic Action Programme.
On the other hand, they are carrying out secret policies of exterminating the society.
The ever increasing crimes in the society are the outcome of the secret drug warfare of the Indian Army, RPF alleged, and added that the only way out of this is the freedom of Manipur from Indian Union.
