Protesting the indifference of the Government to their demands, the All Manipur Health Services Doctors Association (AMHSDA) has resolved to wear black badges for five days from December 21 to 26, to only attend to OPD services for six days thereby closing all the emergency services and all the OPDs and to close all emergency services for five days from January 2, 2021 .
If the Government still does not listen to their grievances.
then doctors under AMHSDA will launch a cease work strike from January 3, it added.
The decision was taken during a general body meeting of AMHSDA held at Hotel Imphal today.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Th Suresh Singh, retired Director of Health Services in the presence of Dr Sh Surchandra Sharma, retired Director of Health Services.
The meeting was also attended by various Manipur Health Services (MHS) doctor representatives from all the districts of Manipur.
The demands of the doctors included non practising allowances (NPA) as per the Central Govt pay norms and it should not be optional.
It also stated that private practise by any of the MHS officers should not be allowed.
It further urged the Government to approve and adopt the Draft Manipur Health Services Rules submitted by the association on February 19 and repatriation of the MHS officer deputed at JNIMS for three more years.
The meeting also called for immediate cancellation of the service extension of Dr K Rajo Singh as Director of Health Services for six months after superannuation.
