Imphal, August 18, 2012:
While thanking the people of the state for their cooperation in the General Strike jointly called by revolutionary organisations of the NE States in the whole region on Indian Independence Day, the Coordination Committee (CorCom) of seven Revolutionary Organisations of the state (KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (Pro), RPF, UNLF & UPPK) has categoricvally stated that people of Manipur were not Indians, are not Indians and will never be Indians.
In a statement signed by its Media Coordinator H Poirei, CorCom asserted that the huge public support to the boycott of Indian Independence Day has once again rekindled the hope of fighting for a free Manipur.
Eversince, Manipur was forcefully merged into Indian Union; the identity of the indigenous people of the state has been suppressed over the past 63 years.
Today, the tradition, culture and identity of the state are on the verge of extinction.
The India government is making many secret policies to overshadow the identity of the indigenous people and merge it into the Indian mainstream.
Sending in many economic migrant into the state without any formalities is one of the policies to liquidate the identity of the state and its indigenous people.
The ever increasing influx of non Manipuris in the state has choked the indigenous people.
The statement contended that the communal clash between indigenous Bodos and migrants in Assam is the result of such secret policies which aim at liquidating the indigenous identity of the region.
Today, Bodo people are taking refuge as outsiders in their own land.
As an outcome of this clash, people from North East are facing racial discrimination in other parts of the country.
North Easterners are also being assaulted in metro cities of the country.
But what is even more unfortunate is the depiction of the incident of assaulting NE people as just rumours.
People of the region are being ill treated in the mainland India with the racial tag of 'Chinky'.
Moreover, many have been killed while women have fallen prey to the beastly acts of the Indians.
In such a situation, talking of being a rightful citizen of India by the MLA, Ministers in the Independence Day function in the state is a shameful act.
Moreover, the editorial of Hueiyen Lanpao which lamented over inability of the people to participate in the Independence Day celebration freely and forgetting of 'Jana Gana Mana' is very unfortunate.
It is unfortunate for Manipur to have such people who seek solace from Indian nationalism while sidelining the problems, threats and inconveniences people in Manipur have been facing since forceful merger into the Indian Union.
Such acts of instilling the wrongful sense of Indian nationalism could have been done by a black sheep, CorCom stated.
Even if the secret policies of India try to liquidate the indigenous identity of the region, the bias nature and racial treatment by its security forces, leaders and general people has once again reminded the people, the deceitful nature of the Indians towards the people of the region.
In such situation, the indigenous people of the region should unite with each other and fight against the colonial rule for a independent Manipur, the statement added.
