Imphal, October 07 2013 :
Terming the state government of Manipur as anti-tribal, Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Imphal has expressed its discontentment over the issue of Border fencing along the international boundary between India and Myanmar.
The association along with the other civil societies is set to initiate different forms of democratic agitation if the government does not deal with the issue at the earliest.
The student body said that the state could lose large chunk of land to Myanmar if the government continues to overlook the issue.
One Chief of the affected village revealed that there has been no intervention from the government side even though they regularly perform their duty of paying house tax.
They also threatened that they would start paying the taxes to the Myanmar authority if this issue is not resolved soon.
Some civil societies of Manipur like UCM, KSO and a few political parties have visited the affected villages and assured to work out the problem but so far nothing has been put into action.
President of TSA-I Ralph Haokip said that this is not a minor issue.
The Ibobi led government has done nothing about this issue and so it should be responsible for any kinds of outcome,
it added.
