Importance of systematic cultivation underlined

Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Imphal organised a two-day 'Integrated Pest Management, Human Resource Development Training Programme' at Raengdailung Sadu Khoiroi village, Loktak HE Project Kangvai Sub-Division.
Churachandpur district from February 26.The inaugural function was attended by Adim Pamei, Vice-Chairman, Manipur State Disaster Management Authority as chief guest and Monthabipou Kamei, chairman, Raengdailuang Sadu Khoiroi village as guest of honour and Dr O Tarunkumar Singh, Assistant Director (E), CIPMC Imphal and training coordinator of the programme.
In his speech, Adim Pamei stressed on the importance of systematic cultivation using new tools of IPM and maintaining work culture amongst the farmer trainees.
He also advised the farmers to know the Central sponsored schemes and get the maximum benefits out of it through various State and Central agriculture establishments.
He assured all necessary help for the farmer communities of the State during disaster situations.
Giving key note address, Dr Tarunkumar highlighted various components and practices of Integrated Pest Management and use of biopesticides in the pest management practices for a eco-friendly and sustainable environment.
Technical experts NL Singh, Plant Protection Officer; Dr Adam Kamei; L Michael Singh and Sonia Soibam; scientists from KVK Tamenglong Gaipuingchung Kamei and KVK Senapati, David Kamei delivered lectures on different topics related to Integrated Pest Management as resource persons in the training programme.
