Radhabinod claims divisions within Congress party

With the next Assembly elections approaching fast, opposition leader and NCP Manipur State unit president Radhabinod Koijam has claimed that cracks have development within the ruling Congress party and that they have divided into three different camps.
Radhabinod Koijam was speaking at the concluding function of the week-long celebration of the 13th foundation anniversary of NCP at the premises of Ima Khunthokhanbi here today.
He further remarked that it was not a matter of surprise to see Congress party dividing itself into three different camps.
He went on to assert that such divisions and intraconflicts are a culture of the Congress party.
Claiming that the NCP successfully blocked BJP from returning to power politics, Radhabinod clarified that this did not mean people were satisfied with the performance of Congress party.
"People are more aware about the misgovernance by Congress, the worsening situation of corruption in public offices and the multiple scandals now rocking the Congress party", the NCP president asserted.
In addition to playing decisive roles in the formation of UPA Government, the NCP has been shouldering heavy responsibility in shaping the country's future, he said.
NCP supported Congress and formed the coalition Government of UPA to save India from BJP.
The NCP has been demanding from both the State and Central Governments to initiate dialogue process with the insurgents in order to bring an end to the conflict situation besetting the State for the last many years.
He exuded that NCP would able to play more significant roles after the next Assembly elections and it would part of the ruling coalition.
As soon as the party comes to power, maximum efforts would be put in to restore peace in Manipur, Radhabinod declared.
He further reminded that he declared unilateral ceasefire during his stort stint as Chief Minister of Manipur and gave opportunity to the misguided people to return to their homes.
There was positive response from the underground outfits too.
He further appealed to the people to keep faith in NCP and elect the party to power in order to bring a revolutionary change in terms of governance in the State.
MLA Doukhomang Khongsai claimed that the people of Manipur no longer wish a Government formed by a single party.
Claiming that people prefer multi-party coalition Government, Doukhomang claimed that NCP candidates would be victorious iin 15 o 20 seats, even if the party cannot win absolute majority.
The party would be certainly a part of the next coalition Government, he stated.
MLA Salam Joy called upon the people to elect competent and committed candidates in order to bring change and good governance in the State.
Former MLA L Ibomcha appealed to the people to elect candidates who shares concern for the nation.
He further called upon the people to give a crushing defeat to all those individuals and parties who believe money can buy votes.
