Works Minister promises tip-top road condition by March 2013

Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar has given strict instructions to the officials concerned to keep all the major roads in Imphal city as well as in Greater Imphal area and places of public importance in the most favourable condition.
Addressing media persons during a press conference at his office in PWD complex at Khoyathong today, Minister Kh Ratankumar noted that roads in Imphal areas have not been repaired properly for the last many years and hence the people have been facing lot of problems.
He assured that the roads along the RIMS, JNIMS, Sangaiprou godown and other places of public importance will be kept in its best condition.
The Minister informed that a meeting with the officials of PWD, the Chief Engineer has issued an order advising all the officials concerned to carry out their works with quality in the interest of the general public.
Strategies to keep the roads of all the district towns and adjoining areas in a tip top condition have also been chalked out during the said meeting, he disclosed.
The Minister said that even if the task could not be completed during current year since the rainy season has already started, the whole plan would be executed by March 2013 .
For the time being, all the pot holes in the said areas will be repaired at the earliest for the convenience of the people, he assured.
Prior to the press briefing, the Minister reportedly inspected the condition of the roads in Imphal and its surrounding areas.
