Chinjak Fest starts

The 11-day Chinjak Festival-5 International, jointly organised by Innovative Youth Society (IYS) and Boss Juices, has kick started at Yaipha Lamjing Lup ground, Pishum Ningom Leikai from today.
Teams from Thailand and Myanmar are taking part at the fair, which has 150 food stalls.
Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) Th Ranbir and Keishamthong AC MLA L Ibomcha graced the opening function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
AK Mirabai while speaking at the occasion lauded IYS and Boss Juices for putting in effort to preserve and promote the indigenous food items of the State.
She said that it is encouraging tobe self employed by producing different food items and dishes.
Adding an indigenous taste to the opening ceremony, folk songs were presented by Aneshori and Priyarani.
