Seijang Development Committee demands

Imphal, November 06 2014:
Following a meeting with the Chief Minister of Manipur at his office on November 3, the Seijang Development Committee today presented a set of resolutions over the case of burial of the dead body inside Seijang Village by the neighboring Silent villagers.
The Uyok Hall at Seijang under Lamlai Police Station has been kept under CrPC- 144 as it became a disputed area.
The meeting attended by Home minister, Gaikhangam Gangmei and many other MLAs and the DGP of Manipur agreed to take actions on the matter along with lodging an FIR on the case.
Assurance was also given for legal enquiry and actions over the police personals involved in the incident and shifting of the IRB post to the border of Seijang and Silent villages.
It was also concluded to prohibit the entry and erection of memorial tombstone in the area in the future.
In this regard, the association called for an immediate move from the government before November 10, failing which they will continue to come up with strong demonstration and bandh with the support of various social organizations of the state.
