Imphal, April 03 2012:
Bus services connecting different districts in Manipur would remain suspend totally if the government fails to meet the demands of civil societies in connection with the two young handymen who were charred to death when the bus in which they were sleeping was set ablaze by some unknown persons at Keishampat here on March 27 .
Taking part in a sit-in protest at Keisampat here today, advisor of All Manipur Bus Owners' Federation announced that bus services would remain suspend completely in the state if the government continues to remain silent over the demands for payment of compensation to the family members of the two deceased handymen and the owner of the ill-fated bus as well as arrest and punishment of the culprits responsible for burning of the bus.
Highlighting all these demands, a memorandum had been submitted to the Chief Minister on March 28, but there has been no response from the side of the state government, the advisor lamented.
