Nagaland Assembly Special Secretary passes away

AE Lotha, Special secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, has on Friday at about 10:00 A.M.passed away in a hospital at Guwahati.
Within minutes, a pall of gloom descended on the state capital, Kohima and also Wokha district as news of the demise of its most illustrious son AE Lotha, Special Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, trickled on Friday morning.
Expressing his pain at the untimely passing away of Lotha, Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya conveyed his condolences to the lady wife of Lotha, Loyivani.
"At this hour of grief, I and my wife convey the heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that Almighty God will grant strength to bear the irreparable loss," said the Governor in his condolence message.
He further said that they had lost "an able administrator and a sincere officer" .
"May the departed soul rest in peace," Acharya said.
Chief Minister TR Zeliang in a condolence message said, "I am shocked and saddened by the news of the untimely demise of Shri A.E.Lotha, the Special Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly this morning at Guwahati in a hospital" .
Zeliang said his untimely death was a great loss to the "Nagaland Legislative Assembly, to the Lotha Community and the Nagas in general."
On his own behalf, and on behalf of the people of Nagaland, and also in his capacity as Leader of the 12th House, the chief minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the wife, children and relatives of A.E.Lotha, and prayed that "God grants them strength and peace of mind in their hour of bereavement" .
State Home Minister Y Patton also expressed his deep pain on the untimely passing away of Shri AE Lotha, Special Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, at about 10:00 A.M.at Guwahati Hospital today.
"The news of his untimely demise has made me devastated today," said the Minister in a condolence message today.
He said late Lotha had been one of the "sincere and honest" officials handling all his works so efficiently and diligently whether it was in the Assembly Secretariat or during Assembly Sessions.
"In my long career as representative of my people, I had always found him knowledgeable and he was always ready to provide valuable legislative and constitutional advices to me," he said.
"He has also been polite, upright and attentive to legislators whenever the latter sought his valuable guidance with regard to Assembly related matters" .
"Words cannot express my sorrow," Patton stated adding that the "office won't be the same without Shri AE Lotha" .
He said untimely demise of Lotha was a "great loss to the Assembly and the legislators of Nagaland in particular and the people in general." The void created by his untimely demise would be difficult to fill, he added.
Stating that his deepest "sympathies go out to you and your family," the Minister said, "May God give you the comfort and peace that you seek and may the soul of your loved one rest in peace!" .
BJP MLA DR TM Lotha also expressed his deep shock in learning the sudden and untimely demise of AE Lotha, Special Secretary of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, at about 10:00 A.M.at Guwahati.
In a condolence message, Dr Lotha said late Lotha was one of the most efficient and sincere officers in the Assembly Secretariat and his admirable temperament, sweet tone and liberal attitude had endeared him to all his subordinates, friends, legislators and relations.
The BJP MLA stated that Lotha was highly respected by legislators and Assembly employees alike and was regarded as a farsighted officer by anyone who ever worked with him.
He further disclosed that Lotha's contributions to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly during his years of dedicated and selfless service were many and varied.
"His contributions to this company will not be forgotten," he added.
Stating that his sudden and untimely demise was not only a great loss to the Assembly Secretariat and the state legislators but also to the state and in particular to the Lotha community, Dr Lotha said that the void created by his untimely demise would be difficult to fill.
Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, the BJP MLA from 38 Wokha Assembly Constuency said prayed to Almighty Lord to grant them "an strength and courage" to bear the loss.
He also prayed to Almighty Lord to grant peace to the departed soul.
