Sit in protest staged

Job card holders under Chairel Gram Panchayat staged a sit in protest condemning the withdrawal of their wages by ward no 1 member Lakshmi, without the knowledge of the card holders, at Wangjing Khunou today .
Speaking to media persons, Sh Bisheshori stated that a sum of Rs 612 which is the wage for a three day work were deposited in the accounts of the card holders .
She stated that the card holders open their account in the Manipur Rural bank in Kakching where they usually withdraw their salaries .
Later, when they went to check their balance, the sum of money were found missing from their respective accounts, she stated .
Upon enquiry, the bank authority told that ward member Lakshmi had withdrawn the money from the bank .
The protesters condemned that action of the ward member stating that withdrawing money and without the knowledge of the holders is unfortunate .
Condemning the act, the protesters urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and book the culprit and any person involved in the incident .
Meanwhile, another protester Huidrom Subhasini asserted that the said member had collected a sum of Rs 500 each with assurance to provide gas cylinders despite the PMUY scheme to provide LPG connections at subsidised rates.
