Training programme concludes

Thoubal, February 13 2020:
A two day "Nature Training for Civil Societies" programme organised by Thoubal Forest Division concluded today.
As part of the valedictory ceremony, staff of Forest Department inspected the prevailing condition of Kharung Lake, Ikop Lake and Waithou Lake which fall under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Forest Division and counted the number of birds roosting at the lakes, under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Thoubal, Debala Laiphrakpam.
Pallel Beat Officer, Md Islaoddin headed the team inspecting Kharung Lake team while Yairipok Beat Officer, M Biren and Wangoo Beat Officer, Md Aslam Khan headed the teams inspecting Waithou and Ikop Lakes.
The inspection drive was also participated by members of Indian Bird Conservation Network (IBCN) Manipur.
As part of the programme, wildlife experts and resource persons of the programme also interacted with the campers.
Conducted under the theme "Adverse Impact of Encroachment & Earth Cutting" and "Conservation of Wetlands & Birds", the closing ceremony was attended by Thoubal Forest Division DFO Debala Laiphrakpam; Thoubal Division ACF Vaneichong Singson; Thoubal Range Officer, S Samungou and Kakching Range Officer, N Iboyaima among others.
The two-day training programme which began yesterday was conducted under the aegis of Nature Learning Centre, National Mission on Himalayan Students (NMHS) and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Govt of India.
