'98 pc of Meiteis voted for BJP in Tripura polls'

General Secretary (Administration) of BJP, Manipur Pradesh K Saratkumar Singh has claimed that Meitei populace in Tripura played an important role in the formation of BJP Government in the State with 98 percent of the population exercising their franchise in the recently held Assembly Election.
Addressing a press meet held today at the head office of BJP, Manipur Pradesh located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Saratkumar said that leaders and workers of BJP, Manipur Pradesh stayed in Tripura and held intensified election rallies and campaigns in the Meitei and Manipuri Bishnupriya dominated areas ahead of the Assembly Election.

He said that Biplab Kumar Deb who took oath as the new Chief Minister of Tripura today lauded the role taken by party leaders and workers of BJP, Manipur Pradesh.
According to him, Biplab Kumar Deb mentioned that Meiteis have a close relation with Tripuris since time immemorial.
He went on to say that there are around 30,000 Meiteis living in Tripura and 98 percent of the population voted for BJP in the election.
Chief Minister N Biren; Keirao A/C MLA L Rameshwor; Khurai A/C MLA L Sushindro along with party leaders of BJP, Manipur Pradesh took part in the oath taking cermony of the newly elected CM of Tripura, he added.
He dislosed that convenor of North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Himanta Biswa Sarma informed him that BJP is all set to sort out strategy for the upcoming Parliamentary Election in the North East.
Saratkumar maintained that BJP, Manipur Pradesh will hold a grand function to mark one year completion of its Government and the successful inauguration of various infrastrutures and implemetation of projects and schemes in the State.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP National President Amit Shah would take part in the function, he added.
He informed that the Home Minister, Prime Minister and the National party president will arrive in Imphal on March 15, March 16 and before March 30 respectively.
