Imphal, April 24 2012:
Chairman of the proscribed revolutionary organization, Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) N Oken has greeted the people of the state and the western side of the South East Asian countries and the member parties of CorCom and other like minded revolutionary organisations in the region on the occasion of its 18th Raising Day which falls on April 25 .
In a statement, Oken observed that the present condition of Manipuri society has deteriorated to a great extent and it would not be an easy task for the people of the state to withstand threats from all quarters to almost all aspects of the society.
In such a situation, the ongoing revolutionary movement for a free Manipur as well as the movement of the society towards a better Manipur is unfortunately going backward instead of advancing.
Taking serious notes on the developing situation, it is very much important to strengthen the revolutionary movement in order to save the Kanglei race from the Indian colonial rule.
While it is true that the revolutionary organisations in the state are losing public support rapidly in recent years, it is also true that the civil movement is also withering noticeably, Oken said.
Accepting the rapid decline of public support is due to various mistakes committed by the revolutionary organisations in recent years, Oken appealed to the people of the state not to turn against the revolutionary organisations but help them in rectifying their mistakes by advising, giving suggestion and put up complaints so that they can review their activities for a better revolutionary movement.
Comparing the revolutionary movement to a boat with the people of Manipur on it and the Indian colonial rule as a vast and violent water body beyond which the freedom of Manipur can be seen, Oken exhorted the people not to break the boat for not rowing in the right direction or for mistakes done by the rowers but help and advise them and take it to the right direction to reach the shore safely.
The statement further assured to take all the advice of the people with much delight.
