Twin blast rocks city, 2 hurt

Imphal, April 24 2012:
At least two people sustained injuries in a bomb attacks carried out by unidentified miscreants at two different places of Imphal under Lamphel Police Station today.
The first blast triggered in front of Shanti Hospital at Sana Keithel, Lamphel at around 6:30 pm today while the second blast occurred at the residential gate of one Keisham Romi (56) of Sagolband Tongbram Leikai at around 7 pm.
Romi is an Executive Engineer in Minor Irrigation Department.
The two persons who sustained injuries in the blast in front of Shanti Hospital have been identified as Nongthongbam Jaison (35), s/o N Tombi of Langmeidong Keithel presently staying at Lamphel Sana Keithel and Sorokhaibam Naoba (29), s/o late S Mangi of Tentha Heibung village.
Naoba is aksi presently staying in a rented house at Lamphel Sana Keithel.

Both of them have been admitted to RIMS for treatment.
According to police reports, the first bomb attack in front of Shanti Hospital was carried out by unidentified miscreants.
A car red in colour with registration number MN01W-0662 was partially destroyed in the attack.
The rear tyres and the rear windshield have been destroyed in the blast.
The fuel tank has also been leaked.
The ill-fated car belongs to one Dr Modhubala.
The second bomb attack took place at around 7 pm at Sagolband Tongbram Leikai.
Unidentified miscreants hurled the hand grenade at the house Keisham Romi, who is an Executive Engineer in Minor Irrigation Department.
Luckily, no one was hurt in the second incident.
Soon after the report of blast reached police, OC Ibomcha and other top police officials rushed to the spot and carried out an extensive search along with police officials of Imphal West district.
There is no report of any detention or arrest in connection with the twin blast.
Police have registered cases in both the incidents.
